The mark of the beast is one of the most feared symbols in Revelation. Its association with economic exclusion and spiritual allegiance has led to many theories, particularly in the modern era. However, when viewed through its historical lens, it becomes clear that the mark is not a futuristic, physical mark imposed by governments or technology.
