Introduction

This site is structured into 7 weeks in each semester, is primarily designed for small group Bible study, and somewhat assumes that the reader has at least a basic knowledge of the simple Gospel which is this: God the Father had always planned to offer undeserved grace to sinners who put their faith in the sacrificial death of His son, Jesus Christ, which provides atonement for our sins, so that we can be redeemed to the Father in order to have fellowship with Him. We repent, get baptized and daily confess our struggles to God while we seek to carry one another’s burdens.

Rather than re-examine the fundamental basics of Christianity, this site will instead dig deeper into Scripture to reveal knowledge that was virtually unanimously known by our ancestors, even going all the way back to the 1st century believers, yet unfortunately is rarely comprehended by most modern “evangelical” believers. But don’t just simply believe anything you read here. Instead, test it against what’s in Scripture to see that it is True. This is an open book test, we know where the answers are, we just need to turn to Scripture, pray for the filling of the Holy Spirit, and pray for discernment in order to be shown the will of God. We must be like the Bereans who eagerly listened to what was taught to them, yet what made them special was that they then searched Scripture every day to see if what they had been taught was true (Acts 17:11).

It is my desire that everyone would have insatiable questions placed in their heart and would turn to Scripture to find the answers, because Scripture is alive and sharper than any two edged sword. No other generation could fathom the tools that we now have at our fingertips to study Scripture like never before. It is my calling to discuss what I’ve found, and I’m simply obeying my calling. Ultimately, we’re to seek God’s will, “help people see Jesus,” and worship our Creator and Savior. Will you worship with me in spirit and truth (John 4:24) as we study Scripture looking for answers to some tough questions? Great big things need to be discussed among believers, even though at first it might not make sense why we’re studying, yet in the end, it will hopefully all make perfect sense and will be quite moving, because for me it has been life changing.

Is the spirit of the Reformation still needed today, or do we mistakenly believe that the modern Church has reached complete doctrinal perfection? If we’re being honest, mankind has a long history of messing up “religion.” We can see the physical world around us with our eyes, but are most of us “spiritually blind” and oblivious to what God is doing as well as what He has already accomplished? We must study the Bible to be able to open our eyes to appreciate what God has done to spiritually empower us.

Currently, many Christians have spent decades in Church and have primarily only listened to preachers, yet they aren’t aware of what they don’t know. They don’t realize they’re missing key parts of Scripture because their denomination doesn’t teach them. Do we tend to believe that one denomination is 100% correct, and all of the others are 100% wrong? Is it wise for our denominations to remain in echo chambers where no one questions their supposedly sacred denominational doctrines and presuppositions? Or is it healthy to have a dialogue among different denominations in order to seek God’s will when studying Scripture together, in order to gain insight from different perspectives, and to gain knowledge of how the Holy Spirit is moving in believers who have different denominational backgrounds, even if those denominations are also missing other parts of Scripture? Wouldn’t it be helpful for each of us to learn the parts of Scripture that we’ve been missing? We should be able to fellowship with any type of believer from any type of denominational background because the True body of Christ is not divided. We’re surrounded by theological extremes, but this study will seek to bring Biblical BALANCE to Christianity.

This study is also about strengthening, encouraging, and comforting (1 Corinthians 14:3), which is described as being one of the greater gifts. It is done by revealing things which are not commonly known, but it is not about predicting the future. Instead, what would be more strengthening, encouraging, and comforting than finding out what has already been fulfilled? We must begin to learn about what has already been fulfilled. Our Protestant ancestors knew exactly what had been completely fulfilled, yet the currently popular dispensational theology has pulled people away from the Truth that had previously been known. Specifically, after reading countless commentaries written by our great theologians over many centuries, I’ve found what our Christian ancestors knew to be true. For instance, they knew that Daniel 9 was all about Jesus and His New Covenant. This prophecy was completely fulfilled by Jesus, and knowledge of what He accomplished should cause everyone to believe that Jesus was the promised Messiah. Yet who else was also responsible for changing what we all had known was True? The answer to that is found in Revelation 17 and 18 which describes the organization that is directly responsible for literally killing millions of people, including Bible believing Christians, after that organization had declared that the Bible was on its list of forbidden books. History clearly shows that organization paved the way for the seemingly false interpretation of Daniel 9, also known as Futurism, which was picked up by dispensationalism. Perhaps it would be wise to stop and see if there are any errors in that currently popular teaching?

What will also be consistently pointed out is that Scripture is Christocentric (Christ-centered), and that Jesus is already our greater Prophet, Priest, and King. In Matthew 17:1-8, God tells us this about Jesus, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to Him!” Jesus is the One that we should listen to. We should still study the Old Testament and the terms of the Old Covenant, but we should see that it all had pointed to Jesus. Jesus is the fulfillment of all that was promised (2 Corinthians 1:20), and He is the King of our current spiritual Kingdom that we must enter into by being spiritually “born again.” Jesus has done the work to redeem us to the Father. And God is the One who takes responsibility for choosing us and doing the work in us, through His Holy Spirit, to mold us into His image.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me,” (Rev. 3:20).

This is “Good News!” Repent and believe!
